Company Description
The SBDC program is designed to provide high quality business and economic development assistance to small businesses and nascent entrepreneurs (pre-venture) in order to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement.
SBDCs must work collaboratively with assistance from SBA’s district offices to coordinate their efforts to expand services and avoid duplication, particularly with other SBA-funded programs such as Women Business Centers (WBCs), SCORE, Veteran Business Outreach Center (VBOCs) and U.S. Export Assistant Centers (USEACs). Where the SBDCs are located in communities with these resource partners, the SBDCs will coordinate with them in offering training and other forms of assistance to their clients.
SBDCs are encouraged to fully utilize the resources of other federal, state and local government, academic and private sector programs concerned with aiding small businesses in order to provide seamless but not duplicative business development assistance at every stage of their growth.
